10/27- 11/2 Meal Plan, Semi Drake Update, Diet Change!

I have been dairy free now for a whole week... the results are less than exciting.  I know I may be premature to judge but with Deacon I noticed MAJOR improvements after day two.

I cannot handle seeing my son in gas pain hell because of something that I ate... it's breaking my heart and well, I am exhausted!

I know that this all just may be him but the chances of it being something that I am eating are well... better (based off of the diaper evidence).  So after practically no sleep last night (again) I have decided to go extreme with my diet... almost caveman/Paleo  style but with some modifications so that I am not starving- I still need enough calories to feed us both!

So here is our meal plan for the next week.  The only allergy item that I am not yet cutting out are eggs.  If in a week he is still miserable then see ya later eggs!

I feel like I sound crazy but if I don't try this I will never know.  Talk about eating HEALTHY!  lol

All homemade, of course, and absolutely nothing processed in any way /-;

  • Veggie Soup
  • Fish, Veggies & Rice
  • Large Salads w/ Egg & Chicken
  • Roasted Chicken & Veggies
  • Chicken Fried Rice
  • Chicken & Rice Soup
  • Dinner with my parents

So we shall see... this way I don't have to try just tomatoes, peanut butter, soy, dairy, etc. etc. etc.  I can just nail it all out and in a while bring things back one by one if when we are ready.

I'll keep ya posted!

  1. What kind of veggies are you eating? I am having extreme gas issues with my little girl (2months old) when I eat dairy & any green veggie pretty much. I would love to do a veggie soup but have no idea whar veggies I would put in it lol! This is my first time nursing so this is all new to me. Hope to see a new food video soon! Congratulations on your little boy!

  3. For me it was peppers, onions and broccoli that made my baby miserable.

  4. I kind of hate to do this to you, but I'd try to steer clear of these veggies for a while if you can. Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, green peppers, and tomatoes. You probably know this anyway. I completely feel your pain. My son had horrible collic. Remember, it IS NOT forever! IT will go away - hopefully really quickly with your fab diet :)

  5. I would LOVE to see a video or recipes for these. I too am eating dairy, soy and egg free. My 1 year old has a terrible allergy. Belly pains and major eczema (my poor baby boy will itch his skin completely raw). Anyway, I have a hard time keeping my very un-exciting diet interesting. I have been doing this for nearly a year now. Urgh. I would recommend rice bread (freezer section at whole foods), nuts, steel cut oatmeal. These are "safe" and filling. Oh - if your craving sweets you MUST get "Luna and Larry's coconut bliss" It's coconut milk ice cream. The chocolate flavor is almost as good as eating brownies. Seriously.

  6. I know Drake is very young still, but maybe a food allergy to chicken?? I know when they tested Peyton {which she was confirmed to be allergic to cow's protein, eggs whole, almonds, peanuts, walnuts} they mentioned that they were testing for chicken as well;thank goodness she was negative, but never-the-less .. maybe for Drake??

  7. I was just wondering because my second child has those same problems and I breastfeed him also. I cut out gassy foods but I realized that it was possible for him to have colic. Colic will cause your child to ball himself and scream like someone is stabbing him in the gut. My son had it so bad that I got about 2 hours of sleep a night, after many dr visits and non sleep, I brought both my kids to my MIL because I was exhausted, I picked up a natural healing book and much to my surprise I looked up colic. I saw where you can take 1T of dill seeds and steep it in 1C of hot water. make a tea out of it, if you have a tea ball that works best. Let it cool and then before feeding him, I gave him half a dropper full to see how he would react, while feeding him--about 5-10 minutes he stopped nursing and let out an enormous amount of gas. He then giggle and continued eating. I keeped it in the fridge and would make new about every three days depending on if it looked cloudy. But it's just a thought. I know that it can be hard on you because you can't explain gas to a baby. I really hope he gets better soon. I was glad when N's went away, he was the happiest child around.

  8. Hope everything goes good with your diet, it's hard seeing your baby in pain, my son had horrible gas pain when he was younger, he also had acid reflux so I cut a lot out of my diet, then ended up not producing enough milk and ended up just having to supplement with formula. Hope your little one gets to feeling better, it could be the eggs maybe?
